Terms of Use

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the CV World mobile application and related services. By downloading, accessing, or using CV World, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the CV World mobile application ("App") and any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Maintain the security of your password and account
Promptly update your information as necessary
Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. CV Data and Content

4.1 Your CV

You retain all ownership rights to your CV and personal information. By uploading your CV to CV World, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and share your CV as described in our Privacy Policy and as necessary to provide the Service.

4.2 CV Sharing

You understand and agree that your CV may be shared with:

Employers and recruiters when you apply for jobs
Authorized agents and administrators managing CV assignments

All access to your CV is logged and auditable. You may request an access log at any time.

4.3 Prohibited Content

You may not upload CVs containing:

False, misleading, or fraudulent information
Another person's information without their consent
Illegal content or content that violates any third-party rights
Sensitive personal information (e.g., government IDs, financial account numbers, health information)

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Impersonate any person or entity
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access data
Share your account credentials with others

6. Paid Services and Refunds

6.1 Subscriptions and Purchases

CV World may offer premium features through one-time purchases or recurring subscriptions. All payments are processed through third-party payment processors (e.g., Google Play Store). We do not store your payment information.

6.2 Refund Policy

Refunds are handled according to the policy of the platform (Google Play) where you made the purchase. Additionally:

Duplicate charges due to system error: Full refund within 14 days
Technical issue preventing service delivery: Prorated refund
Change of mind or accidental purchase: No refund (please contact Google Play)
Subscription cancellation: No refund for current billing period; access continues until period ends

To request a refund related to CV World service failures, email billing@cvworldd.com within 7 days of the transaction.

7. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, and your CV will be deleted within 30 days unless retention is required by law.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, logos, trademarks, and all related intellectual property are owned by CV World. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or distribute any part of the Service.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

You will receive job offers or interviews through the Service
The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
Any employer or recruiter will respond to your applications

Job search outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CV WORLD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR $100, WHICHEVER IS LESS.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CV World from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Zambia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Lusaka, Zambia.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
